New season, new format
Last season, LIVEbrary used Skype exclusively as the communication platform. Why Skype? We liked the fact that it was easy to download, and provided the option of speaking to authors either through an audio feed or by online chat. In working with Skype, however, we discovered that there was a fairly high ratio of dropped calls, not to mention the fact that a number of interested teachers and librarians needed special permission to download Skype onto their school computers.
That's why, for the second season of LIVEbrary, we're going to let teachers and librarians decide which software they want to use. Annick authors will now be able to visit students using whatever technology works best for their classroom.
Stay tuned for more information about the next phase of this exciting program: LIVEbrary on Demand.
